Abi suggested the idea of doing quite the artistic piece, similar to Intervals. The piece would be very dark and would portray how accustomed to violence society is. She proposed it as an alternative to the video game idea incase Martine doesn't like our idea. I liked the idea a lot, because it would be very creative and would be a gritty piece.
As we were on the subject of "making a project that suits criteria" Me and Amy soon realised that Martine was a huge fan of French experimental film such as La Jette & Un chien andalou. We thought that if we made our main character or one of our main characters French and female, it would aid us in filling the criteria for the module.
The idea soon came to me that if we turned Abi's idea into a backstory for the French female character, we would be able to accomplish something that everyone could be happy with.
I managed to source a character who is female and French (Shermie from SNK) that doesn't have an over-exposed backstory leaving room for our group to fill as fiction. In Tuesday's meeting, I will discuss this with the group and let them know of my findings, however I do not want to completely bend to what lecturers/tutors want. I will adjust the rules to fit my project.
Shermie is actually a long-term character from King of Fighters and was in a band with another main character (Iori). I think we would be able to take Shermie from her universe and implement hers into ours and create a backstory about her growing up.
